Do You Know What is the Best About Working at Home?

As Featured On Ezine Articles

For over 44 years, wow that seems like a very long time, I worked as a registered nurse. I worked in every area of nursing, (hospitals, teaching, psychiatric, detox units, prisons, etc) and not only did I work a J.O.B. (Just Over Broke) but I also had to work two jobs for years to support my family as a single mom. That is enough to make one not only tired but still just enough income to pay the bills.

Does any of that sound familiar to you? I would venture to say that it sounds way to familiar to way too many.

Let's take a look at why that seems to be the norm. Well, just to date myself, in the "good ole 60's" if you can imagine, our salaries were less then three hundred a month. Can you imagine that either? But, guess what, the gas was only 10 cents a gallon and bread was barely a nickle. Cars cost less then a thousand dollars and houses were around fourteen thousand for a nice home.

So take the cost of living and the rise in all products and on and on, it is very easy to see where we have come to the just getting by. But, now what is the difference in the ones that have learned the "secret" and the ones that are in the top five percent of the money earners or fortunes for businesses?

Do you know the difference? And, do you know why so many people do not? And, why so many, oh so many are just eeeking a living and just existing from pay to pay from day to day? Now, I am not an economist but I have myself personally lived from those pays to pays. No, I do not just exist especially on a day to day spiritual and economical level now. But, I do know how it feels to worry about bills and how to keep the kids fed and to have the stove, refrigerator, and the car all break in the same day.

But, I also know the real feeling of a sense of accomplishment of not only coming through the tough times but also staying on focus and target to get to the other side of the tunnel. And, oh by the way, also learning the "secret" as well.

Do you get ahead in a J.O.B.? But, if you have to work and pay the bills, then how to you get out of the rut and get to the other end. Especially when you work and get home and the demands of the family and you being too tired to even think about being creative or making an attempt at working for yourself.

Before you think that all is so bleak and there is no way out for you, let me explain how I was able to work two jobs, raise two great kids (now 38 and 39), and also get out of the J.O.B. and finally work at home on a full time basis for myself. How? I first learned the "secret" and then I set my goals, made my plans, and acted on the plans.

Seems too simple, right? Well, it works and that is why I like helping so many people get started because I know there is a better way. I know how the freedom of time feels even though I still spend time working, it is for myself and my team that I work with. Not for the B.O.S.S. or with people that are negative and I would rather be around.

I am going to leave you with this last question for now. Would you rather stay doing the same thing that you are doing in the next five years? Or, would you rather learn a new and better way so that you can live the lifestyle of your dreams.. whatever your dreams may be.

When Working at Home..Do You Have Enough Social Contacts?

There is something to be said about working outside of the home. Even though the traffic and sometimes the boss or co workers drive you crazy, what about the isolation and lack of socialization when you are working at home.

Sometimes I think that may be some of the reasons why people go back to work. Not only that they may have not planned how to make money successfully at home but also they may have not thought about what they miss when it comes to being with people.

Now there are some people that like to be by themselves and work all day by themselves. That would probably be the "green" personality. (the ones that are detailed and specific to the task).

Having brought that up, I find it facinating that there are 4 types of personalities: green (detailed and specific), yellow (helpful and nuturing ie teachers/nurses), blue (just want to have fun), and this is fun... the red (they have power socks, power shirts, power watches, etc).

So, if you are a yellow person, you might do well working in the home. How? Well, I actually am in that category and I have found lots of ways to work with people and if you read my blogs and articles you will find that is what I like to do best... help people work at home on the Internet.
Now, yellows like socialization but the helping people online can have its social outlets too.

If you are a red person, it may work better for you to be in a power situation that entails a business that has employees and workers that are willing to put up with power stuff. Could that work in the home, well it would work if you had a business that you could control.

And, now here is the blues, can they work in the home and have fun and make money. Depends on the nature of the work and also the demand for the type of things that they want to do and like to do.

Can working in the home fullfill all of the types of personalities and their needs? I believe the answer is yes. As, we are all "wired" with special gifts and talents so are we wired with ways to fullfill the needs. Whether working in the home or an office, those talents and needs will find ways to express themselves and ways to be fulfilled.

There is one thing that I have learned, to work at home, use a balanced principle of taking care of the 5 areas of my life: physical (eating/exercise/ etc), emotional (creating healthy relationships), financial (managing finances and productive working on my business), spiritual (prayer/meditation etc) and last but not least social/fun.

Here is what works the best for my business to fulfill all of these areas: www.100adayworkingathome.com

Finally, at last thru all of my helping others, I have found the perfect work at home business and now I can ... have Fun...Make Money...and Travel.

For Those Over 60 and Working at Home..Priceless

A Gift......

The other day a young person asked me how I felt about being old. I was taken aback, for I do not think of myself as old. Upon seeing my reaction, he was immediately embarrassed, but I explained that it was an interesting question, and I would ponder it, and let him know.

Old Age, I decided, is a gift. I am now, probably for the first time in my life, the person I have always wanted to be. Oh, not my body! I sometime despair over my body ...the wrinkles, the baggy eyes, and the sagging butt. And often I am taken a back by that old person that lives in my mirror, but I don't agonize over those things for long.I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, my loving family for less gray hair or a flatter belly.

As I've aged, I've become more kind to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend. I don't chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not making my bed, or for buying that silly cement gecko that I didn't need, but looks so avante garde on my patio. I am entitled to overeat, to be messy, to be extravagant. I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.

Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 a.m., and sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 50's &60's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love ... I will.

I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the bikini set. They, too, will get old. I know I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten.

And I eventually remember the important things. Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when a beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect.

I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turn gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face. So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver. I can say "no," and mean it. I can say "yes",and mean it.

As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore. I've even earned the right to be wrong. So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day.

Do You Have Patience When Working at Home?

What happens when you know about a new business adventure and it is supposed to start and supposed to start?

Have you been in that situation?

If so, did you have the patience to wait for them to "get it together"?

How do you know if starting with a new company is a good thing to do?

There are some advantages to new companies:

getting them started with a so called founder or start up for little cost
getting on the so called ground floor and being the first to know
getting to know the owner and the support people before too many people are working

but then the disadvantages are there too:

going thru the start up phases with possible slow/disorganized etc
going thru the growing pains and frustrations of the process
going thru the possible changes that may have to occur.

So the original question, do you have the patience to wait for them to get started? And, how do you decide?

Here is a Thought For The Day

Working at home, is not for the faint and unmotivated person.

Why would I say that? Well, there is so many people that I trully believe are wanting to have freedom.. whether it is time freedom or health freedom or work freedom or financial freedom.

Do you think that they are all wrapped up in one? It seems as though if you have health but not time to enjoy your life or if you have freedom of time but not health, then neither is the best way to live.

Now, do you have a choice about either?

The answer for both is yes.. at least if you make wise choices when you are young and even older if you find ways to improve your health and also your finances.

But, as earlier stated, it takes patience, perserverance, and fortitude... and yes, a support system from others.
